Abigail Van Huss is an archaeologist with the Associates for Biblical Research (ABR), where she is Co-Director of the excavations at Tel Shiloh. She also teaches as an adjunct professor at The Bible Seminary in Katy, Texas.
Academic Career and Education
Van Huss holds a PhD in Archaeology from Ariel University, and a BA in Christian Studies and an MA in Biblical History and Archaeology from The Bible Seminary. She has worked in the field since 2007, at ABR's excavations at Khirbet el-Maqatir, at Mount Zion, and at Khirbet 'Auja el-Foqa, Khirbet er-Rafid and Fazael.
Major Works and Contributions
Her master's thesis, published as The El-Burnat (A) Structure(s): Joshua's Altar?, examines the structure on Mount Ebal excavated by Adam Zertal and the question of its identification, which remains debated. She has contributed two chapters to Excavations at Khirbet el-Maqatir and published a study of a Judean pillar figurine from Tell el-Ful.
