Urie holds a master's degree from The Bible Seminary, awarded in 2022, and is a doctoral student at Veritas International University, writing on Egyptian-style royal scarabs of the Middle and Late Bronze Ages from the southern Levant. ABR's staff listing, which is no longer online, described him as a square supervisor, dig photographer and drone pilot at Shiloh. In 2026 ABR's television programme described him as conducting his doctoral research on scarabs.
Major Works and Contributions
With Scott Stripling he wrote "Three Scarabs from Shiloh" in Judea and Samaria Research Studies (2024), which examines the chronology, typology and iconography of three scarabs from the Shiloh excavations. Scarabs are small, durable and often datable by style, which makes them one of the more useful tools for dating the levels in which they are found.
